Nothing to see here. The deeper your pockets...the more mods you can buy for your car. I could build a Vega that would run 9's for less than half the price. Still impressive though!

No matter what anyone says....a 9 second car is impressive, even with the mods he's running (or what others say he is running). Gotta expect the usual fanboys to chime in though OP.

The ZL1 can get in the 10's with some bolt ons and simple mods, It would only make sense a Hellcat could easily run 9s with simple mods.

My Dad just got a hellcat its bad ass, with slicks it can already run 10.9 stock!!

Let's put this into perspective, here are the mod list for Hellcat:
Upper and lower pulleys, ARH headers, E85 tune with HP Tuners, CCW wheels with skinnies and Mickey Thompson ET Street R DOT radials, aluminum driveshaft, Razors Edge Motorsports rear control arms, Nitrous Outlet 150 dry shot

**Official 1/4 Mile (V8) 2010+ Camaro Fast List
ZL1 Camaro, (Stock Displacement)**
Number Member Engine/Trans Modifications 1/4 ET @ MPH Post #
1 camarovigoa LSA/A6 LT's, CAI, Heads, Cam, UDP,PBS, TB, DR's, Tune 9.756 @ 140.61 MPH
2 mrvenicess LSA,A6 LT's, CAI, Cam Pulleys, Converter, Tune, DR's & Skinnies 9.828 @ 138.76 MPH
3 Rick@Livernois LSA, A6 Heads/Cam, LT, CAI, U/L/P, HE, Converter, Skinnies, Slicks 9.879 @ 142.42 MPH

I wonder how the hellcat will do at a road track? hum....

Probably about the same as the three ZL1's at the top of the fast list.

As configured, they would all suck.

I guess im missing your point. Are you saying that a heavier car on spray is just as fast as a lighter car with a cam and head work?

sooooo it took less work to get the hellcat into the 9's than the ZL1. okay cool.

He is saying they would all suck on a road course with drag radials. I had to reread it myself. lol

You guys that haven't driven a Hellcat have no idea how good they actually drive. You see alot of these people making comparisons based on magazine reviews and drawing their conclusions from that....Bench racing at its best.

I own both a ZL1 convertible and just picked up my Challenger Hellcat M6 yesterday. I haven't put a ton of miles on the hellcat yet...of course. But after a morning of driving in " real world" conditions i.e. ( two lane back roads) with chances to enjoy the car without being stupid with it. I gotta say the Hellcat has really exceeded my expectations. It is an absolute blast to drive and handles far better than the " bench racers" wanna believe.

I am sure if you take them to some race track the Z would win out in a timed lap setting. However I am here to say. Do not believe all you read about the Hellcat being a big heavy boat that can only go straight. Thats just completely false.... Don't believe me...drive one. Both are awesome in their on right and both have their high points. As well their faults. I can say without hesitation though...Dodge got this car right. Just as GM did the ZL1.

not impressed zl1 and SS with mods have been doing the same, look at fast list. If you talk Stock hellcat and its times and if you could find the car at MSRP then yeah I would be impressed but over MSRP then mods. No, I will take a camaro with mods anyday. Easier to mod with better ET values for less money.
