New here and to the Camaro

Hey guys, New to the forum. Picked up a 2010 SS L99 yesterday it is yellow. Found it at a dealer with fairly low miles (38k) and an asking price of $21,000. I talked them down and ended up getting it for $18,500 after tax title and registration. Im lretty impressed with the car so far. From what i can tell all that has been done mod wise is an Airraid cold air intake. I will only have it for a few weeks till i drop it off to get some of the minor paint chips repaired and the wheels off to powdercoat. Any recomendations on exhaust? It is an automatic so i dont know how the 8cyl to 4cyl will sound. Anyways nice to be here and hope to learn something and prepare to break the bank on mods over the winter.

Great deal! I have heard there is a way to "tune out" the shutting off of 4 cylinders but I am not sure who has it. I've always liked Magnaflow but there are so many others out there. You will get many opinions. Check out the V8 section for what others have done.

Sweet deal...I have 3" from cats back with single chamber flows #10 I think. Sounds like a beast even when it drops to four cyls.

Drone is the challenge with aftermarket exhaust and AFM. There is a lot of power to be found with long tube headers, high flow cats, a low restriction exhaust and tune. How far do you want to go?

Do you have the part number by chance on the flowmasters? Does removing the resonator and adding an X pipe make these cars annoyingly loud? Im looking for a deep growl at idle. I saw an axle back borla exhaust for a good deal but havnt found any sound clips yet.

Does anyone know if this car comes stock with racing stripes, i can actually see the fade in the paint on the hood and trunk where racing stripes used to be. There is no badges on this car other than the head rests and the steering wheel. Thanks for the welcome guys, ill be using the search button and trying not to ask repeat questions.

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Im only going to go as far as the waranty allows me until i know the car is in tip top shape, it has a lifetime powertrain warrenty and i bought a 3 year 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty just to make sure the car was sound. I may look into buying a range device to kill the AFM, if its compatible with this car. Its annoying when that thing goes into 4cyl and holds at 1000 rpm until you blip the throttle.
