Classic GRM article demonstrates MagnaFlow catalytic converter gains

We dusted off this Grassroots Motorsports Magazine article from 2008 about catalytic converters and test pipes to share because we think it's an excellent comparison of aftermarket cat options. Modern catalytic converters are much, much better at permitting good flow exhaust than those early choking cats from the late 1970s (when everything was strangled by hastily designed emissions controls) and while we've always known our cats improve flow and power over stock cats, GRM demonstrated that MagnaFlow cats—both direct-fit and universal—are equal to or better than a test pipe. In parts of the country with emissions testing, our cats are a great way make sure you'll pass emissions testing with a part that is significantly cheaper than OEM cat replacements while making the same performance gains you'd get from a test pipe.
