Muffer/exhaust upgrade
Hello. I own a 2010 Camaro Rs, stock. I have a question. If i upgrade the muffler, just that, the sound will change? Or i have to change headers? Thanks

Yes, it will change, depending on which muffler you buy.

The MRT v2 and Borla axle back systems are both pretty popular. Check the link below for some video comparisons we did. Borla vs MRT v2 |

I did a muffler delete, added magnaflow resonator xpipe #11386, and added j-pipe all together cheaper than a typical exhaust setup and sounds amazing with no drone!

Love my Borlas. It all depends on the kind of sound you want. Talk to Chase (Apex Motorsports). He is great at listening to what you want for your build & helping you find just the right system for you. Plus good prices, free & fast shipping & great customer service.

Did you guys take the resonators out as well? Local shop suggest to keep them in.

We get a lot of positive feedback from the Camaro5 guys for our 11386 resonated X-pipe in place of the stock resonator, though. It gives a little volume boost if you keep the mufflers and will give a slightly higher frequency to the overall exhaust note. Some of the V6 owners also run that same part with a muffler delete for a more aggressive sound. |
