You favorite dog breed..

I love love LOVE dogs, ever since I was a kid. I've never liked cats; cats = no personality, dogs = nothing but personality, plus you can take them anywhere you want to go and they're more than down for the ride! Try that with a cat..... yeh. As much as I like dogs though, of course there are breeds that fit my personality and look. Apart from loving dogs I LOVE the bull breeds; pits, bulldogs, bull terriers, etc. Pits have been my number 1 for sometime though, but bringing myself to get one is another thing. I was bit by a pit earlier this year, accidentally. I was holding his rubber toy for a little too long when my cell phone went off and BAM!!!!....*OUCH!* He went for it. See, the thing is these dogs(pits especially) are high energy dogs and require a lot of attention and physical exercise to be balanced dogs, and I'm not sure I have the time. Not only that but I feel to some extent they're a liability because you just don't know. I think I'll take the gamble one day soon enough though.

Coon Hounds!

Super versatile. Can be real playful, but are perfectly happy laying around when nothing is going on. Great with small children. The only real down side is they will not stay with you unless they are on a leash. When that nose goes down, if you don't have em on a leash they are gone. And they are LOUD. When they get to howling outside I have to bring them in before my neighbors get mad.

Tag, those dogs are gorgeous...

German Shepherds. Very intelligent, loyal, protective (good for the wife and kids) and IMO they are a beautiful breed.

That said, all dogs are cool and I agree with all of the above. It's all really just a matter of preference.

Dogs aren't just pets, they are family.

I agree! I only wish they were mine!!! When the boys get older, we are going to look into getting one. Maybe once we move onto a little more land. I want any dogs we get to have PLENTY of room to run.

They say you should wait til your kids bet bigger before you get a dog so the children won't be overpowered by them if they get a little nutty. Good thinking.
