there is a guy in my town driving a 80s era Saab 900 that has it's single exhaust pipe sticking out and up like that if I ever see it again I will snap a pic of it.

I don't know why this is so amusing to people. There is a reason: To keep hostages alive longer when they are in the trunk. A live hostage is worth way more than one who, oops, died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I think he did it so he can tell if his car is running. Can be hard to tell on some imports. I jump in the wife's winter beater a 1997 Nissan sentra and mash the gas and wonder if it's running sometimes. lol!
