This comment was awesome. From Jozo "Do you think they’ll rename the car the Z06:59:13 in celebration?"

...I don't think that "Horsepower Kings" outfit has had anything yet verified or confirmed on anything it has "reported"....just sayin'....

If you see it credited to Horsepower Kings you can safely disregard it. These are the same guys that said Ford was discontinuing the V8 in 2017 and reported the GT350R times as 5 sec. faster than the Z/28. GM usually releases ring times, so just wait for them.

I can't see that being true, that's a 20 second improvement over the last ZR1 time of 7:19...
and just noticed its a horsepower kings article Now question for all of you that value Ring lap times. The Z06 is already out in the publics hands...why is there no ring time from GM yet? |

So we're to believe that all the testing they did, in 1,000 miles, they only considered putting a video recorder in the vehicle twice?
Yeah...okay. |

"record a lap on video were rained out." And that answers my question.
Props to GM for responding very quick to the false article Isn't there a rule at the Ring that bc so many makes are there testing you can only video the runs at certain times? |

I may be wrong, but I remember hearing that you have to pretty much "rent" the whole course you are going to run. Which I'd imagine can get pretty pricey for a bit of publicity.

Yes there is. It is to prevent you picking up video of other manufacturers' cars that are also testing.
