Without a doubt, my favourite author. I've read most of the books in the Jack Ryan universe, as well as a number of his non-fiction books and a couple of his novels that aren't part of any series.
btw, he completed one last Jack Ryan novel earlier this year. Supposed to go on sale early December. Thats probably my favourite Clancy novel. But I can't seem to find my copy anywhere.

As a huge fan of Tom Clancy's works, especially the RyanVerse, I feel it is necessary to put out an updated list of the Ryanverse chronology.
So if you are a fan, and want to read all the stories in the order they were meant to be, not the order of publication, it goes like this: Without Remorse; (John Clark's origins story) Patriot games Red Rabit Hunt For Red October Cardinal of the Kremlin Clear and Present danger Sum of All Fears Debt of Honor Executive Orders Rainbow Six Bear and the Dragon Teeth of the Tiger Dead or Alive Locked On Threat Vector Command Authority (Posthumous release in Dec 2013)

Just finished "Command Authority,"
On par with all of Clancy's other works. So sad that this is the end of the Ryanverse. ******SPOILERS***** John Clark Lives, and goes down in historical fiction as the ultimate master of badassery.

I've been a fan for years, and have read most of his works. They are long, but everything gets tied together by the end of all his books. He will be missed.

Quote:
I was wrong! Saw this in the grocery store the other day, immediately bought it on iBooks. I have been reading it, John Clark is in it (Yahoo!) so is Ding Chavez, Jack Ryan Jr. and Sam Driscoll. Aparently the plot revolves around us duking it out with North Korea. I do stand by my previous assertion, JOHN CLARK will live forever as the ultimate master of BADASSERY!

So as I read more of this awesome book, let me reveal a few tantalizing points:
The evil, yet competent Supreme Leader of North Korea dies, leaving power to his IDIOT son. The son is fat, lazy, grossly incompetent, and a total PU$$Y. With North Korea's total control of information, the cabinet successfully rewrites the new leaders biography to say that he is a bomber pilot that successfully crash landed his plane on a highway to save the crew, and that he is also a spec ops paratrooper, who successfully led 33 covert missions into South Korea to rescue kidnapped North Koreans that have been sold into slavery.... I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP !!! Usually Clancy's fiction work, specifically the Ryanverse, is very realistic military and spy fiction. Now, one can add unintentional comedy to the list as well. Long Live John Clark, the Ultimate Master of Badassery!
