Do you think in a year or so it will get the 8speed auto? If so it should bump up a mpg or two yeah?

Interesting...I was expecting 28+ mpg highway with the 4 cylinder.

Thats a little disappointing. The Equinox & Terrain manage 32 highway with a similar size, weight, and engine. Sure, they're FWD instead of RWD. And yes those crossovers get exceptional (on paper) fuel economy for what they are ... but still, I would have figured on a couple more mpg out of the I4 Colorado.

On the Corvette, CTS, and Escalade the mpgs have improved by no more than 1 mpg with the 8 speed. In the Escalade it didn't even change.

Well that pretty much means a 4 cylinder Z71 makes no sense. V6 it is then.
