First 'New' Car

And first Chevy.

<skip if you don't want back-story>

A little background...
As a senior in high school, 7 years ago, I bought a 67 Mustang. Throughout the years I replaced the motor (302, 351 heads, cammed with bunch of other goodies--still only put down about 300hp--Ford thing), rehabbed the transmission--shift kit/stall increase, and finally did the body work, cut out rust and went back with new metal. Outsourced the painting. Car looked nice.

I had always been a fan of the 67-69 Camaros, but they were out of my price range.

Fast forward to now... I sold the Mustang. Yes it was pretty, yes it was fun. But at this point in my life I wanted something that was fun, but also didn't require quite so much attention. Someone else will enjoy that car much more than I will, at this point in time.

I used the money from that, along with a trade in on my DD to get into a Camaro.

</back-story>

Picked up a 1SS/RS, Silver. M6.

3 options: NPP, Short Throw Shifter, and Backup Assist (Only because the visibility in this thing is a little less than stellar.)

I had it brought in from OK--dealer trade; I'm in the DFW, TX area... so it had a few miles on it. But it is, essentially, my first new car.

Picked it up last Thursday -- have about 800 miles on it now. (Did I mention my commute is 35 miles each way. Planning on driving my Jeep P/U to keep miles under control)

Have yet to break about 4200 RPM. Regardless, it's a blast.
Here's the car:

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
