Cell Phones

So, I'm kinda known for being a cell-phone geek, and most people ask me for recommendations on phones, carriers, etc.

So, I did a search and didn't see any thing about cell phones. So, what carrier are you guys (in the US at least) signed on with?

Edit: I have T-Mobile and Nextel, and no, I'm not one of those people that walks through the store with my Nextel screaming, allowing everyone in sight to hear my conversation with intermittent beeps. I actually use the internal speaker in public.

I thought Nextel was purchased by Sprint and no longer goes by Nextel. I have a phone that says Cingular, but I know they are now AT&T.

yeah sprint bought out nextel....I know I had them and finally got rid of em after 2 years of hell since the merge! I got T-Mobile and Its much, much better

Cingular and AT&T are the same company.

Nextel and Sprint are the same company.

A mod should add Alltel to the poll.

They did, kinda. (Buyout, yes. Nextel name death, no) Sprint owns Nextel, but they're actually reviving the Nextel name for all of their PTT devices. (Sprint is introducing QChat which is PTT over their network, but it will be interoperable with Nextel's PTT) The only reason they're separate in the poll is because Sprint's network is based on completely different technology than the Nextel network, and they're not interoperable.

Speaking of which. I'm getting rid of my pos razr and getting a new cell phone now. I'm not sure who I'm going to go with. I am looking for a phone that has great sound quality, bluetooth and can have custom ringtones. I don't need a camera. I don't need an mp3 player. I just want a phone that's not crappy quality and isn't too expensive.

Any recommendations justin?

I have Verizon... they seem to have the best coverage around here and my wife's family all has Verizon so they talk to each other for free. EVERYDAY!

Verizon. Best coverage, best signal.
They also now have a deal with OnStar where you can forward your Verizon phone calls to your OnStar phone number if you add the OnStar number to your family plan.

i have nextel but pay my bill to sprint i like the PTT because all my buddys are on it.
