Chevy to oversee Corvette restorations from Museum

After a massive sinkhole damaged a number of cars at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky, Chevrolet is stepping in to oversee restoration of the vehicles.

General Motors Design in Warren will lead the project after the museum Corvettes are shipped.

“The vehicles at the National Corvette Museum are some of the most significant in automotive history,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of General Motors Global Product Development, in a press release. “There can only be one 1-millionth Corvette ever built. We want to ensure as many of the damaged cars are restored as possible so fans from around the world can enjoy them when the Museum reopens.”

That is great that Chevrolet is stepping up to restore these beautiful, significant cars that mark Corvette history. I am hoping that they can get all 8 cars back out of their temporary grave but I do not know how they can be extracted without dismantling the dome. I am sure that the best engineers will be brought in to help with the excavation.

Just read about this today.

I was curious how this would affect my museum delivery (hopefully in 2-3 months)?

Is the museum going to be shut down because of this or moved?

I'm currently in the Virgin Islands, so thought I'd check here first. May need to talk the dealer I ordered the car through if no one here knows yet.

Steve enjoy your vacation. Museum deliveries are not effected as of today. All areas of the museum are open as normal with the exception of the Hall of Fame Dome because of the sink hole problem. You should be in good shape for your delivery.
