How does ford do it with the Mustang GT?

How does Ford make the Mustang GT stock exhaust sound so much better than the very bland SS exhaust (Take out the NPP option, as it's just this an option)? Even GT aftermarket systems sound better than most SS options. I've sick and tired of hearing a rumble come down the street only to look as see it's a GT. Our cars may have the looks but damn Ford has got us beat in the sound category.

So how does Ford do it and why can’t Chevy? What’s so different about the engines that makes such a sound impact?

Mostly has to do with the GM Bailout i'd imagine. The CAFE standards slapped us in the face because they took the bailout.

Not too many people want a loud or rumble sounding car. "as per manufactors choice". They sell you a car that is quiet. most pleasing to ones ears. what loud or rumble do it yourself.

I get that, but even with modding the GT still has a better tone/rumble in most cases.

Yes I agree. Most mustang owners like my little exhaust set up. I don't stomp on the gas. sounds better that way

I love the quietness of our Camaro. When it leaves its life a s street car, which is all it is, and becomes a track car, the entire exhaust system will change. Until then, it runs and handles great, and draws no unnecessary attention to itself.

Ummm...yeah, that's it.

Mustangs have always had a very distinct exhaust note, starting in 1987 when the fuelie 5.0L was put into production. You could always identify them coming down the street.

Coworkers called my stock Camaro the "Electric Banana" because it was so quiet. Now, not so much.
