exhaust help

so my dads b day is coming up. i want to get him a exhaust for his truck, so im seeing catbacks and mufflers. will a muffler alone add sound? and my dad hates drone he has 2012 tahoe . any advice and suggestions? if possible can any tahoe owners give me a cheap exhaust/muffler recommendation? thanks guys. i tried on the tahoe fourm but they are confusing the crap out of me.

I wouldn't buy him a exhaust since the Tahoe has the AFM 4 banger mode which will drone with any kind of exhaust on it save your money and buy him a intake which will help him save gas and still get good sound out of it.
