Lightbulb Idea about parking!

Yesterday a thought about parking came into my head while pulling into a parking space. Most people try to park right in the middle of parking spot lines but I thought if everyone parked real close to the right line wouldn't everyone have enough space to open doors for drivers and passengers to get out and not door ding people? Id doesn't have to the right line could also be the left line but I was just thinking that. Cause most of us car people try to find a end spot and park as close to the line or curb anyways.

You could do the same thing with everyone parking all the way to the left. Or in the center. When the spots are the same width, the cars are the same width the space between them will be equal if they all park the same way.

You would still have the same amount of space as you would if everyone were centered.

I think he's trying to make the point that everyone should psrk the same. Some people park close to the right, some to the left and some in the center. If the car to the right parks close to it's left line and the car to the left of the space parks close to the it's right line, that squeezes the guy in the center spot.

Your Idea is sound in theory. But large vehicles such as vans and SUVs pretty much use the entire spot. My local target store has the doublelines painted on the ground. When I park my van (Chevy Exspress 1500) there, the tires are on both sides are on the inner lines.
