GM Teases 2015 Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon

Sneak Peek: New Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon Pickups
General Motors

August 8, 2013

ACME, Mich. – At the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars today, General Motors Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dan Ammann provided the first look at the next-generation Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, designed to be capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups.

Colorado and Canyon will join the all-new 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500s, and the upcoming Silverado and Sierra HDs, to give Chevrolet and GMC the industry’s most comprehensive lineups of pickups, helping customers choose the right truck for their needs.

Production is scheduled to start in 2014 at GM’s Wentzville, Mo., assembly center.

Except for grill and headlight changes, I would assume the new Colorado will look pretty much like those sold in Thailand.

Beltline appears to be the same in this spy shot..although this is an extended cab.

Those look too cross-over/truck-mutant-like for the American market. (Obviously just my own opinion)

Which is why they are undergoing some changes before being sold state-side. There is a good chance that everything that is under cladding is getting tweaked.

The front fascias and bed lengths will change.

And hopefully the interior. Good lord the global interior is awful.

I'd like the LV3 as well but GM doesn't appear too keen on doing so.

I just hope the price/mpg makes it worthwhile to buy one.

As am I. Im pretty sure (at least with ford and GM) you can get Into a 6 cylinder base full size for somewhere in the mid 20,000 range.

I imagine optioned up versions of these two will easily eclipse 30k.
