Independence Day things to remember for tomorrow while grilling

just a few things to remember while grilling and swimming in the pool on the 4th

Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence:

Five were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes burned to the ground. Two lost sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, and two more had sons captured. Nine fought and died in the Revolutionary War. he signers were flesh and blood, mortal men with a divinely-inspired aim.Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists, eleven were merchants, and nine were farmers and large plantation owners. They were well educated, smart enough to know that by signing the Declaration of Independence, they were signing their own death warrants. They did it anyway, and God bless them for it.

and for them we have the freedom that we enjoy

Well said.

Visionary. I never let my children go passed July 4th without making SURE they give thought to the reason. My father did the same with me. I've allways told them that the things that our founding fathers went through and experienced were not loke a hollywood movie or some play at school. It was ugly and terrible what was sacrificed. And it happened to real people. And we are in their debt.

I wonder if they ever wondered what their country would be like in the future

I mean if some how they came to the future and saw that America Was a world power what would they say

If it wasn't for the Farmers, Merchants and many other Workers that risked there lifes for Freedom and a Better life then we wouldnt have all the great things in the world today :flag1:

Yes, the 56 whom signed the D of I were very important, and they did pretty much sign their death warrant. They risked what they had, for what they believed was right. Dont forget the current Air Force, Navy, Marines, Army, Coast Guard....reserves...soldiers. Without them, we wouldn't be free. They risk it all, just like those 56 men did. They go off to war, not knowing if they will ever tell their loved ones they love them one more time, or if they will ever see them again.

Happy 4th tomorrow

Lol, as much as the camaro is a cool car, I don't think anyone will be worrying about that.

without a doubt, not enough respect goes to those who fight, bleed or die for our country. They deserve more than the world for that.

My family came here in the 60s from Europe, and since that time, none of them served our country, including me...I chose to dedicate myself to my studies...though the military was an option.

Take special care to thank those in uniform when you see them. And take a second to say an extra prayer tomorrow for our servicemen and women. Perhaps I'll never know what it's like to fight for the nation...but I sure as hell know what it's like to be free -- and those who made that possible deserve every ounce of respect and gratitude from all of us civilians. There is no greater sacrifice.
