The Creature Who Ate the Drive In (and other scary tales)!

Today, as I was perusing the internet, I happened across a story about a task which Honda (yes, I said Honda ) has undertaken to save some of the drive in theatres in the U.S. from closing after the end of this year. http://projectdrivein.com/

The movie industry is going to cease the production of film and go strictly digital. This will require replacing equipment at drive in theatres to the tune of about $80,000 per screen. With the lack of interest in going to drive ins now, the establishments aren't exactly rolling in money, and this will quite likely close a lot of drive ins across the nation. Honda is offering to pay the $80k to replace the equipment in 5 theatres which will be chosen by a vote, and is taking a up a collection to help others.

Its worth going to the site and watching the video. And voting for your favorite theatre while you are there. If it strikes you as a good cause...maybe you can go to see a movie at your local theatre...share the projectdrivein.com site on your facebook or twitter...and maybe you can get your local Camaro club to have a drive in night or two.

For those of you who are too young or too senile to remember the Drive Ins that once dotted both small and large towns across America, perhaps a little history is in order:
