Anyone else do this?
Ok so I have a habit of when I get change I check the dates to see If I might get lucky and score a real old coin that might worth something? But also has every older collectable coin been accounted for?

If finding old coins excite you buy a good metal detector and hunt where people used to do things which might cause them to drop change. Search youtube for metal detector finds, some people found some nice stuff with them. I might get one myself after doing some research about which are good quality without spending more than about $300. The biggest problem would be finding good hunting grounds which other metal hunters have not already gotten whatever was lost. |

I got a few silver dimes (pre-64) last year. You don't have to look really, they sound different.

I do now. I had visited my parents and had stopped near my sisters so my wife could get a Slurpee (No 7-11's here in MN near us). A couple in front of us had a box full of coins, and they paid for their stuff with the quarters and asked if the cashier could give them paper money for the $25 or so dollars worth of quarters in the box. He said no. I payed with cash and got some of the change and asked my dad when I got to their place what to do with this change. He said, let me see it, there are 2 silver quarters here. DUH! This person with the box of change probably got it from their parents or grandparents and I imagine it was all silver!!!!! I should have cashed them out.
I always check now.
