Snow... In Arkansas?

Hey guys, so lets face it, Arkansas RARELY gets snow, but we did get a white Christmas, which is great! I don't have snow tires, just the P-Zeros that come on the SS. Should I risk it tomorrow morning for work or call in? Previously to the Camaro I owned an Altima and it slid a lot. I know that a lot wouldn't take it out because a lot leave it in the garage, but when it is your only mode of transportation, I don't have much of a choice!

You'll be all over the road. I would start practicing my cough for the call in. I was praying for no snow this year, but it looks like I'll be going to Firestone tomorrow.

I live in northwest Arkansas (Bentonville) and they said we where going to get snow, but it missed us by about 30 miles south. Very disappointed! I really wanted to take the kids out sledding tomorrow.

You CAN drive it, but Id highly suggest not to. I drove mine last winter on P-Zero's only because I had to. You bet I only drove it when I absolutely needed to though if it snowed, its a handful when its 10 degrees out and the road is covered in snow, ice and slush.

1+

I got caught in a light dusting of snow last year with about 13,000 miles on my PZero's. Long story short, I felt lucky to make it home. Buy a new set of tires and you should be good to go!

Thanks guys! That answers the question. I just don't see the point in buying new tires living where I do. It's difficult to justify the purchase for 1 snow a year, if that!

Don't do it!

I lived in AR for four years, back in the late 80s. We had a freak snowstorm of almost 12" and I (being from upstate NY) decided to ride around in my 4x4 Toyota pickup to have some fun. In a two hour period, I pulled four cars and one truck out of ditches.

People in AR don't know how to drive in snow! You will be risking your safety and that of your Camaro. Stay home - the snow will probably be gone in a day or so.

I live in Northern Massachusetts and last a week we did not have snow the roads were dry. It was 35 degrees but I took my car out. I hit the gas from a stop light not hard but with a little enthusiasm and the rear end broke loose and wagged all over the place. The P zeros I guess are horrible under 44 degrees when the asphalt is cold. So I can only imagine how bad they are in snow.
