Those in long term relationships...how often do you go out?

Especially those with kids....

How often do you get out of the house to just spend some time with your significant other.

Did some partying with mine last week after not going out for so long - and getting away from our daughter for a night. I'm surprised at how much a little solo time without our daughter and some drinks can put the "x" factor back into a relationship. I guess we both get caught in the mundane things in life and forget we need to get away every once in a while.

My advice....don't forget your date night with your S/O is important...just like taking care of your kid or kids.

Don't have kids yet, but between work and college (both full time), the wife and I don't get as much together time as we used to. But, we try to go out to dinner and have an "us" night once a month.

And although I don't have kids, I will say I fully plan on being husband first, father second. Not only does that keep the marriage steady, it sets a good example for the little ones.

Every Friday night.. With the Kid.. it's a family thing..

private time happens after daughter goes to bed. .

as far as going out we choose to include our daughter in everything we do in that respect, so we find things that are family appropriate.

That sounds.... boring. No offense Family time is great and all, but I'd definitely want some time JUST between me and the wife outside of the bedroom.

not boring to us.. We go dancing, movies, bowling, mini-golf, ball games, fine dining (not just family dining), opera, concerts, skating, whatever.

My daughter is my life I have no other family mine has all passed on, my daughter and I are the last of my bloodline, my wife (she is the step mother) understands this and has no issue with it. As I said, it's a family thing.

As my daughter gets older things will change, we know this and we are patient people.

How old is your daughter? I hang very often with mine. She turns 5 in Jan. When she was 3 I took her like 3 times a week to be amusement park. My wife and I often take her to dinner with us as well. However just need that one on one time. I mean my daughter gets an attitude when she sees us hugging...or she goes..

Whatever works though... if you feel you getting that bond with your wife when you are out with your daughter...that is cool.

Between work, college, and two kiddos me and the wife never go out. It is what it is. We are used to the grind but we still find time for each other at home.

she is 8, I have had full custody of her since she was 3 months old and her bio mom split. Rain and I started dating when she was 14 months old, and dated for 2 years before the 2 were introduced to each other, at the time she stayed with grandma when we went out. I didn't want them to bond if things didn't work out.

We dated for 6 years before getting married, in which time we did not live together as she was caring for her father and I my mother.

We are not youngsters, I am nearly 44 and she 52 (and never had any kids), we are both widows, at our age, our priorities are a bit different than most.

My daughter used to get that attitude as well, more so because of jealousy since it was always just her and I during that bonding time 0-3 years old.

However they grow out of it, and my daughter adores my wife if you met them both you wouldn't be able to tell they aren't mother and dauther..

That's great, Mr. i. Spend as much time with her as you can now because they all grow up and move on to other things, but you (and your daughter and wife) will always treasure this time together.

We usually go out to eat once a week and the grand daughter (15 years old) often joins us (her mom goes to night school on Thursdays, so that's when we go). We also go out just the two of us two or three times a month.

Depends on the time of year. Hubby runs a landscaping business on the side, so from March through October, "us" time is pretty rare... But, that's the time I get to go hang with my Camaro peeps, since he's not really into the car. Football season, every home game Sunday is a date for us. During the winter, not football season, we like to go for a fancy night about once a month. Get all dressed up, dinner, theater or ballet or a concert. Good times!
