Found my old truck for sale
I was driving back roads today when I passed a house with a truck sitting out front for sale, I thought it looked a lot like the one I bought new back in 89. I turned around and went back and as soon as I pulled up I could see it was my old truck. The body is in great shape, original paint although faded and clear coat gone in places. But overall not bad for a mostly original 23 year old truck. Last time I saw the truck was about 8 years ago, and I sold it 12 years ago. That was one of my most favorite vehicles I have owned.
So I called the guy and asked him a few questions and how much he wanted for it. He at first told me $1,500, then came down to $1,200 when I told him I didn't care for lowered trucks that much. So then I told him why I was interested in it because I was the original owner and would love to have it back. He seemed touched by that and said he would let me have it for $1,000. So tomorrow my wife and I are going back to drive it. I just may have old Brownie back in my life.

that's pretty cool.
my first Silverado was a 1986 standard cab 2WD, and I sold it to a neighbor, who still has it.. it was white, he just painted it a metallic blue, and had the interior redone, it has over 350K on it now and still running strong, with 1 motor rebuild. |

I wish I can buy back my first car.
Seller seems like a pretty cool guy. I'm surprised he didn't use your story as a leveraging tool...

cool story. my first car was given to my brother. his friend bought it awhile later. 5 months later a tornado knocked a tree on it and flattened it. no fixing that. haha

I am dissapointed, the truck is in terrible shape on closer inspection. It has 360,000 miles on it, the transmission needs overhauling, the engine smokes, the body has some rust through on the cab....also the exhaust is shot and he had lowered it without notching the frame so it bottomed out a lot.
It was nice seeing the old truck again but she just was going to be too much work and money to get it where I could enjoy it. :(

That sucks dude. I would love to find my 355 S-10 I had about 10 years, unfortunately I am sure the motor has long been removed and the rest probably sent to the crusher :(

My first car got wrapped around a tree by a mechanic who had been drinking and driving, he bought it from my grandfather for $300 after the engine and transmission were completely rebuilt. No chance in ever seeing that thing again unless it is part of another car or a Coke can.

Well If I could afford a long term project and had a place to do the work.
If I was going to have a project car from one of my other cars i owned it would be this one, if I could find it again.
