Mods seem to have a problem with telling people why their posts are getting deleted. And it's really starting to piss a lot if people off.

The least they could do is send you a PM.

Your thread was deleted because it was a political topic and Camaro5 has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to politics. While the MPG-fuel regulations was OK, the second people brought the current administration into it it became off limits. I hope that helps.

We, the Mods, delete/moderate hundreds of posts a day. We can't keep track of all of them. If you have a question regarding why your post was deleted/moderated just send one of us a PM. If you don't PM us, then we don't know that there's a problem. I'm sorry if we're "pissing a lot of people off," but again - if you don't contact us we aren't going to know that we're pissing you off.

It's and election year and the mods have to buckle down to keep the piece.

I do however believe that someday our hot rods will for the most part become worthless as gas gets more and more expensive. There will always be certain special cars that some rich dude will want to put on display even though he can't drive it just to impress his friends ,but they will be few and far between.

When you have 30+ posts in a thread about CAFE where everyone there thinks it's okay to start ripping on government, policies, politics, etc etc etc (which is against site rules - again, we've tried this before), allllll those posts get deleted. They are deleted because they are against site rules. Either that or the poster decides to quote someone which has more political crap in it. Either way, if you seriously think that we are going to open up our PM box and start PM'ing 30+ individual people on why their single post got deleted, you've lost your mind.

I, nor any of the other mods, are going to spend 40 minutes explaining to each and every person, "you broke site rules when you posted political info or quoted it and therefore your post was deleted....". And you, as well as I and EVERY other person on this board knows it's not going to stop right there.... As soon as those 30+ messages are sent out, we are going to get 30+ messages sent right back to us....1/2 stating they understand and are sorry, 1/4 saying they are upset, don't agree, and try to plead their case on why their post was not political or why it should be left, or how we could have changed it to have kept their post, etc (and they will demand a response which takes more time)...and two people are going to demand their 1st amendment right of free speech claiming we are all nazi moderators who are "pissing everyone off."....and, of course, we are going to end up going back and forth with them as well.

We've gone through THIS EXACT discussion time and time again. We've explained it over and over through the years.

Like RJ said, if you have a question or an issue over a post getting deleted, etc, PM a mod or report the thread it was in and ask what happened. One of us will get back to you.

Remember, we are trying to do a job with 65k members and 30 to 50 reported posts a day. Of the 14 mods we have, EVERY ONE of us has a REAL job. We do this for fun and because we enjoy helping out since this is our "home away from home." At any given time, there might be two or three mods on the site signed in. Sometimes, there are none....and quite frankly, reporting the same post 3 times DEMANDING something be done and "why hasn't this been done yet! I can't believe you all!" when there isn't a single mod on the site.... Really now... this stuff gets annoying. We get to things as soon as we can. We return PM's as soon as we can. But we are not paid. We are not here 24/7. We do what we think is right as soon as we can and we try to move on.

PM'ing each and every person on why their post got deleted simply isn't going to happen. Don't get ticked off...
