Back to considering trading the camaro for a bigger backseat

Still unsure at this point. My wife has a SUV and we typically use that when going out and about or for big shopping expeditions. We are discussing have a 2nd child right now and it makes me worry about my back seat. I can get my 2 year old in there (tight but it works) and he seems to enjoy it. I enoy my car and have modded it to my liking...but now just question whether getting something with a bit more of a backseat would be worth it or stick it out with my camaro.

Owe 27200 on the car and seems trade in would put me at about 27K (I have heard some places tell me 26K but I am going to hold out for 27 considering they will list for probably 30/31K.

Options I am considering is a 2011 Evo GSR with low miles or a 2012 charger.

What do you guys think about the situation?

You already have an suv, that's more than enough.
Don't listen to popular opinion that soon as u get a kid the first thing you need to do is get a station wagon or other 6 person vehicle and completely change you entire existence.
It really all boils down to moving the seat vs not moving a seat to get the kid in. It's really not a big deal, esp when you have another vehicle.
If the camaro was the only family car it would be a little annoying, but it's not so I wouldn't worry about it.
All I'd do is get some stain guard for the carpet and call it a day.
I'm speaking from experience btw and not someone just imagining what a kid is like.

I think you are overly optimistic on the assumption you will get $27k as a trade.
Keep it for now, get some equity in it then get a 2014 RWD Impala SS.
Your priority right now is family not car payments.

Just how big a baby are you expecting? 200, 300 lbs? There's plenty of room in the Camaro

Agreed. You have the SUV--that's more than enough. I also think $27k is probably too optimistic in terms of trade-in value. Conclusion: Keep the Camaro!!

Well took the wife to the dealer on saturday and looked at the evo. Besides the four door the wife hated it lol. Said it looked cheap. Anyways dealer was willing to make a deal and payments would be less than i am making now....but the wife looked at me and said we need to think this out. Phew

Cheap rice piece of s$%&.

You would be better off paying down the Camaro and getting the new SS sedan (G8 roots) or the Impala SS as mentioned above. It will take almost a year for the second child to show up and by then both of those cars should be coming to market. In theory of course.

Oh god, stay the course man!

I just got my Shelby 2 weeks to the day after my first boy. Wife has a Malibu, and while it's a bit of a pain, the two seat hassle is worth the look on the face of guys who are piling their kids into minivans and 4 cyl cars when I pull Alex out of the Shelby.
