I don't think our federal government bought cars from GM in Russia, Mexico, etc...

Point I was getting at is that the company which produces the cars we're all so fond of had a record breaking 2nd quarter. Instantly someone has to bring in politics or negativity. No matter who the buyer of the vehicles were (I'm sure the government wasn't the "biggest buyer" as described), Chevy had a great quarter and that's something to be happy about. Great sales means better products. The higher the stock price goes, the better chance the US government recoups their money from the Federal Loans (not a bailout since it's being repaid) and everyone can go their happy separate ways.

tl;dr -- How about some cheers instead of instantly pissing in people's cheerios?

My point is not the US government bought cars from a US company, but rather the government accounted for the bulk of their sales this past quarter as opposed to consumers accounting for the bulk of their sales in the second quarter.

Federal government sales was around 5% of total sales, no more than usual. There might have been increases in STATE and LOCAL governments buying fleet vehicles, but not the Federal government.

Granted - they did have to prop GM up. But GM is once again making quality vehicles and they are being purchased for government programs, isn't that what we want as Americans?
