Good video editing software?

hey guys,

i got a Hero2 a few months ago and so far its awesome! but im looking to edit up some of the videos and im looking for a decent software to do it. im not into spending a ton of cash for it but i do know they can be expensive.

Personally, I use Adobe Master Suite, which includes Premiere. It's expensive though, but about as full-featured as you can get for editing.

I also have a program called Powerdirector, and it's a much more user friendly, less featured (but still good) program. It will actually upload & convert videos for YouTube from within the program.

I use Sony Vegas. I find it very easy to edit.

That's what a do for a living, so I'll give you my .02....for PC, if you can score a copy of Adobe Premier, maybe an old version (like Adobe CS4 or 5) on ebay or something...that's the way to go. As was already posted, sony vegas is a good cheaper option, but also look on ebay.

As much as people here are recommending Premier (myself included), I threw out PowerDirector for a reason as well.

Not everyone is great with computers, and Premiere can be VERY complicated to a newbie or to someone who isn't great at using software. There is a learning curve. It was easy for me, but I've been using programs like it for many many years.

Even with Sony Vegas, you may need to do the tutorials. Same with PowerDirector, but I believe PowerDirector is better for newbies and much easier to use. That's why I threw that out there. Also, I've seen several comparisons, and PowerDirector has generally been rated higher.
