Possibly Jumping Ship

Hi guys. I went shopping around my local Ford dealerships, and I found a dealer out here that is willing to sell me a new 2008 (yes, i know) Shelby GT500 for 39k.

I am seriously considering this; I ordered my 2SS/RS back in January and I am still sitting at 1100. So, Instead of waiting, I could be driving and having a hell of a lot of fun this weekend.

I'll probably make my decision later this week.

Prepare to be flamed, but I hear you. There was a Challenger SRT at Carmax for 34k here that I almost jumped on.

This sounds like a good deal. Be aware that there was a TSB for the clutch and flywheel until August 2008. I would look for an '09 model with a build date later than Sept 2008, the issue is resolved and the clutch is like butter. I know you can find one for a smidg above $40k, just be patient.

For the price difference, you could have a Camaro 1SS that is substantially faster. It's up to you, but I'll be rocking a 1SS with a lot more ponies that your GT500.

Good luck with whatever car you end up with. I have owned a Ford before and I love their trucks and the sound of the Mustang......but I would never buy another one. I guess when it comes to cars I'm just a GM guy and I have patience so I'll wait for mine to be built. BTW, I ordered Dec 08 and I'm still at 1100 but I'm letting patience have her perfect work.

WAIT!!!!

Fritz Ford has had all their 2008's going for $38585. This weekend ALL dealerships will be offering HUGE savings on anything they have in stock. I was offered a 2009 for $41975 and it was loaded. $10K UNDER MSRP. IF you have to have a car right now, do yourself a favor and at least wait until Friday and grab a paper.

2010 GT500 is WAY better than 2008-9!
