So I'm at a stoplight tonight...

.....and this apparently poor, misguided soul pulls up next to me in a 2002-ish VW Passat and starts revving the crap out of his engine trying to get me to race. :sm0 My wife is like..."Light him up!" Of course we were like 60 yards from the police station so there was no way I was going to bite. But still,Dude, it's a freakin Passat. I used to have one. They aren't that quick. So sad.

I don't have a problem with this. If he would have done that to me I would have chuckled and let him go, or accelerated a little faster than usual. I see this as someone that is admiring your car and is joking with you. I mean do you really think he is over there in his passat with his racing gloves on and he's gonna try to smoke you or something?

Take it as a compliment, it's no reason for a facepalm. I'd bet that the guy liked your car and wanted to hear the engine rev or thought maybe you would do something neat with it.

That's the problem with these cars is everyone tries to race you.

they won't keep up with an SS, but I wouldn't call the passat a slouch either, at least not the new ones.

5.7 0-60 and 14.2 quarter mile make it faster than the V6 stock.

Haha Friday night I was driving behind this beat up hatch back civic. When I pulled up next to him he leaned down and as soon as the light turned green he was trying to race me with that annoyed high pitched "eeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" exhaust sound. I wanted to kick his car over because it was such an annoying sound lol. Now because fl has had non stop rain for the last week and half I wasn't gonna race him. I trust MY car and can control MY car. I do not trust HIM or the control of his car. So I wasn't about to race him and he lose control on the wet roads and he hurt my baby. Also I had my firearm on me that night and I'm always extra cautious of the things I do when I'm carrying.

That your wife wanted you to "light him up" is hilarious. Never thought I would hear that from a woman(who wasn't driving).

Funny how carrying a manstopper changes your frame of mind.
