Red Barchetta

Many of you know the origin of my car's name.

I still feel it appropriate to post this song just because it is about the love of cars.

I have often wondered if the "GEN X", GEN Y or GEN "Z" new generation has any clue who Rush is, or even cares.

If you play a guitar/bass guitar/or drums, then to me you SHOULD know who Rush is by default no matter WHAT age you are. One of your mentors should be one of these guys from Rush.

When I see someone who can flawless play a song from Rush, it's impressive to me. Especially if it's a drummer.

I rarely see that.

I would guess 99.9999 percent of the males on Camaro5...if they see the word "Barchetta"...they know where it came from.

I think that true fans of music know Rush's worth to the music scene. Many of the best bands today cite Rush as an inspiration.

And, best of all...they are one of the longest lasting bands, staying together since pretty much the beginning. Yes, Rutsey got replaced after the first album, and still holds a special place in Rush fans hearts...though he really can't compare to Peart's lyric writing and excellence in drums. They are also one of the best bands live that I have seen.

I went to see them at The Gorge this last summer in their final performance of the Time Machine tour. They played the entire Moving Pictures album, as well as a LOT of other stuff. My video I got there wasn't great, so I'm also including one of my favorites.

On behalf of Canada, I would like to apologize for Rush. And Nickleback. And Celine Dion.

Love this song, I play it all the time in the car. And I worry about my generation, I love the classic rock, I'm only 19.

I know this is obvious for many guys.

If I ever played RUSH inside my house....and acted like I enjoyed it.....My wife would look at me with a face that says....."what is that?"

She would view this kind of music as absurd. I would be asked to turn it off.

My point is that I feel that only MALES seem to "get it".

What?? Thats totally not true! I get it! Rush was my absolute favorite group growing up, and I have every album! A lot of them on vinyl - even the red hemispheres record!

I've been listening to Dream Theater for years

Though, now that Portney's left...it'd be kind of like Peart leaving Rush.
