group messaging
For those of us trying to manage clubs it would be very helpful if there were a way to send out group messages/alerts. Getting folks to regularly check in on club threads is apparently too much to ask. Sending out PM's works much better to get more participation because they get a notice of the message & will check it. It is rather a pain in the rear to try to do that when clubs get very large. It would be great if you could create a group list then you could compose a message & send it to the whole group at once. Is there any way this could be done?

Well, I know you can send up to what...5 at once? I know that can be a pain. But, way back when, I sent a PM to myself with the names of people I wanted to PM over and over. Then, I just copied and pasted between windows into PM boxes. You don't have to type in over and over..just copy/paste. If I need to send the entire mod group a message, this is how I do it.

Yeah, that would help just a little bit but with 2 clubs sporting close to a hundred members each not very much. I set up an e-mail & ask members to send me an e-mail address but then I end up posting things to each club social group page, each club thread in regional and then sending an e-mail. some clubs have set up their own web sites, Facebook pages, etc., but then that is yet another place to go. It would just be nice to have a way to send group messages on C5 if there is any way to do that. It would be nice to be solely C5 based as a club and also easier to coordinate different C5 clubs having joint events.

This has been a concern of mine for a while also which is why I created a social group, thinking I could send a message once from there to all the members, but you can't do that. Too bad.

Gee, I thought there would be more discussion of this that I got. As many clubs as C5 helped to start, I think this is a bigger issue that this response would seem to indicate. It really is a big PITA to not have any kind of group messaging option. Is it really that difficult a thing to do?
