Sportsman.... Where's the Ammo???

I was at wal-mart getting my visiting father-in law a fishing license. While waiting, I looked at the ammo case and it was almost totaly empty except for shotgun shells, and 22's. I asked the clerk about this and he said only a little ammo trickles in and is quickly bought up. What is going on??? Is it like this everywhere??? :(

yep... pretty much the same here too... ever since a "certain" major event its been gong on. people stocking up on guns and ammo... doesn't sound like a bad idea really.

Well since people think that there is going to be major gun control since the the election, people have been stocking up.

You have to hit the stores at the right time.

Our Wal Mart has stock out by 8 am. The dealers hit the store about 10 or so. They buy up everything then mark it up. At least that is what they told me.
I have been able to find 9MM if I check back. Also have found .223 at reasonable prices.
I have not been able to find any .45 at decent prices.

Last time I checked they told me that the police officers had been in looking for ammo. They had to qualify and could not find any ammo.

While I need .45 I am going to hold back for awhile in the hopes that supply catches up with the demand.

No real issues where I am. There was a run-up on prices on more Brady Bill ban type guns but the ammo has been readily available.
