Question on 08 Equinox sport

I was thinking about trading in my Camaro for an SUV and even posted a thread a few weeks back about it. But I have come to my sense's in the nick of time. So now I am trading in my wife's car for a smaller SUV.
Does anybody own or know anything about the older style equinox?
I am looking at an 08 sport with the 3.6L engine. I want to know if there are any issues with this year. Any and all info would be much appreciated!

Your better off getting a 2008 Trailblazer. I own a used car lot and have sold both. I sell a shit load of Trailblazers and don't have many problems with them. I have had several problems with the Equinoxs. Seriously check them out man. Good luck.

The Theta-II Equinox is a vastly better car...I would look into a 2010 model over a 2009.

How much should I expect to pay for a 08 TB? There is one at the dealer I am looking at and they want 23k. It looks sweet and it only has 19k miles on it.

Is that a SS TB they are selling? That seems kinda high IMO.

Does seem slightly high, but with only 19k miles on it, I can see it.

GMT-360s are more or less bulletproof...my Envoy's been a great car (minus a rattle here and there, standard 2000s era GM build quality).

Not an SS but a 2LT with leather and sunroof..loaded to the gills..I would rather have the 08 TB maybe I can get them to drop the price about 3k..wasn't really looking to take on another big car note since I just got my Camaro in mid sept.

What you'll find with the TB is the 4.2L 6 sucks gas. Many found in real world that the 5.3L got equal mileage. Not that those were very good either. The 6 is silky smooth though and a joy to drive, just don't expect very good mileage with either. That would be the big advantage of a 2008 Equinox.

As Fenwick points out, the TB has the old school GM interior craftsmanship, meaning there wasn't very much there, but the Eqinox isn't a lot better.

So basically you have a FWD/AWD platform vs a RWD/4WD platform. Both are roomy, the Equinox has the sliding rear seat BTW.

Neither is a bad choice, but neither is a great vehicle by 2011/2012 standards either.

Another decent choice, would be the latest version of the Saturn VUE. A short wheelbase version of the Equinox architecture. Nicer interior and it is still in production around the world as a Holden and Opel. Saturns are still serviced by GM dealers with no issues. The new body style came out in 2008.
