Which do you think is a bigger deal, The Super Bowl or The World Series?

This is a highly subjective question of course, but I'd still like to see which one people think is the "bigger day in America".

The super bowl isn't that far away, and thus I've been seeing commercials about it left and right, especially from State Farm. And, in one of their ads, State Farm claimed that it was the "biggest day in America".

Here's where I disagree. The problem of course is that I'm a baseball guy, and have been so my whole life. I just never found football that attractive, not from a spectator's POV at least. So, it's therefore my opinion that the World Series is the bigger deal.

Now, your response obviously comes down to which sport you prefer, however, let's see how many fans of each sport are on C5.

I have to disagree with you, the attraction of baseball has fallen off for America in the past 15 years with all of the "juicing" players.

Super bowl is definitely better and more watched than the World Series.

Super Bowl. I do enjoy the World Series too though. This years' Series was one of the best I've seen in recent years.

The Super Bowl is a one time game only. The World Series is minimum 4 games, maximum 7. So if you miss one night of the World Series, it's not a big deal. Miss the Super Bowl and well, you know the rest.

I'm more of a baseball fan than football fan, but the Super Bowl is more of a bigger deal.

Plus, where do you see the newer commercials and advertisements done?

Super Bowl by far out weighs the World Series. I can take or leave the world series ,but the missing the Super Bowl would be worse than a root canal.

You're a baseball guy. I'll put it in terms you can under stand. the Super Bowl= New York Yankees , World Series= Pittsburgh Pirates.

You also don't see a lot of people having "world series" parties like they do super bowl parties.

Superbowl is the biggest sporting even in the US. It blows the WS out of the water in terms of viewers.

I don't remember ever having parties for the World Series, even when the Tigers were in it. Super Bowl it is.

Super Bowl.

I like baseball. I used to LOVE baseball. The whole steroids era has really turned me away from baseball. I still pay attention to it, but not to the degree I once did.

If I had a choice of free tickets to EVERY World Series game next year or free tickets to the Super Bowl, I'd choose the Super Bowl in a heartbeat...
