Home grown pumpkins cooked into whole wheat pumpkin pie or a home made apple pie is usually what I make for Christmas dinner. I also cook up a mean habanero cranberry sauce if we have turkey. My mother was the candymaker extraordinaire of the family, she used to make the most amazing sweets for the holidays.

No wood stove but a gas range and we use the old pizzelle iron that was my grandmother's and hold it over the flame lol it looks silly and takes forever but it's what we've always done......my grandmother is from Italy (San Pietro Avellana).

Believe it or not our tradition is chocolate fried pies for breakfast Christmas morning.

Nothing special for desert, just random pies and cookies and fruit salad and... and I'm getting hungry.
