F*ck yeah America!

I read an article this morning about how a US freight ship was hijacked by pirates of the coast of somalia. This was the first time in "recent memory" this has happened. 20 Americans were on board.

Turns out, they didn't like that very much. I just came across this article about it:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090408/ap_on_re_af/piracy

"Pentagon says crew retakes US ship from pirates"

F yeah America, F yeah.

We just need to start shooting these ships out of the water and stop waiting for UN etc. The UN is the most pathetic and worthless institution ever

Has the UN EVER been good at anything? I don't think so.
The pirates were lucky though, I suspect that one of our navy ships had already set an intercept course.

I agree. We need to shoot these pirates out of the water and chase them accross the ocean. Our Navy is there but not with permission to actively hunt and engage.

The Somalis resorted to piracy in the 90's because foreign fishing trawlers were invading their territorial waters and essentially stealing their fish, and their livelihood. The local fishermen defended themselves by capturing these ships and holding them for ransom. They did not have a navy or even a fully functional government at the time. The UN and every other organization did nothing to help them either. Eventually this escalated into what we are seeing today, with the capture of massive cargo vessels.

Just a little background on the overall story.

America rocks, LOL! I heard, not long ago, the Captain may still be captive by the pirates though...

My experience with pirates was brutal. We were taken for all of our money, treated like crap, put in the dark, herded like a bunch of cattle, and then when it was over, we were told to get off quickly...

Wait, that was the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. Well, same thing but different!.:party0048::party0048::party0048:

Fill a cargo ship up with explosives and send it in their unmaned. When the pirates get on board.......

Bet they wouldn't be so quick to take ships.

Thanks for the run down I didn't know that.

But I hope their not being treated like the victims from all of this. They know right from wrong. It's only a matter of time before a cruise ship or major passenger ship is pirated and more people start to be killed. They need to be hunted and destroyed.
