Why not?
There is a ZL1 forum, a convertible forum, and even a Z28 forum. Why is there not a V6/LLT forum?

There is no SS/V8 forum either.
I think the reason for this is because all the information with general stuff would then be split up so much it would make it harder to find. Cause if a V6 owner had a question that could also relate to a V8 owner but posted it in the V6 section, a V8 owner may never see it or find it if he/she has that same question or problem.

I dont see us adding a separate subsection to the technical sections for each of these versions of the car either because they either have a v6 or a v8. as for needing a specific v6 area, there's no real need to. think about it this way, the v6 and v8 hardtop peeps have the entire forum, the vert guys have a small subsection to themselves. and since the Z28 doesnt exist and no one owns a ZL1 yet... no one really can claim those sections anyway. and since a lot of people post everything in the general section anyway...
