Come on, that wasn't that hard.

Here's a better one:

I go to the store. I buy 2 pounds of apples, 3 pounds of bananas, 6 pounds of oranges, 4 pounds of pears, 8 pounds of grapes, and 5 pounds of lemons. The price of buying one pound of everything is $3.85. Orange are seven times as expensive as apples. Two pounds of grapes and a pound of apples cost the same as a pound of lemons. Grapes are six times as expensive as bananas. A pound of apples, a pound of bananas, and a pound of oranges are the same as a pound of pears. A pound of pears, a pound of grapes, a pound of oranges, and a pound of apples is the same as a pound of lemons. What was the total bill?

2lbs apples + 3lbs bananas + 6lbs oranges + 4lbs pears + 8lbs grapes + 5 lbs lemons= 28lbs fruit salad @ $3.85/lb = $107.80

That's what I thought it meant at first as well, but if you re-read it, the sentence actually means:

1lb. apples + 1lb. bananas + 1lb. oranges + 1lb. pears + 1lb. grapes + 1lb. lemons = $3.85
