Your opinion please!
unfortunately i cant get my camaro immediately and need a relatively cheap car to hold me over until the 2011 model year or late this year. the car needs to be new and under 20k because its going to eventually go to my brother or sister for them to drive. what would be the best car in this segment? right now i am debating between the 2010 mazda3, ford focus, or the cobalt.
(i wish the cruze or fiesta were out already so i could get one of those) |

Why not get a 2007-2008 model? Would still have the warranty and you don't take the depreciation hit. Nobody really needs a new car, particularly a teenager.
My vote is for a 2008 Cobalt. |

Cobalt. Lot of personality in that car. Hell, you can pick up a used 05-07 SS/SC for pretty damn cheap now.

cobalt ss/tc you'll love it with a tune you can run around 22psi and have about 300fwhp and have amazing handling all in a car around 3000 lbs... can't argue with that...

That's over his budget of 20k. The Cobalt is easily the best of the three, and you can get one with quite a few nice features for under 15k.

An '09-'10 stickers for 24k. Even if he got employee pricing it would be about 21k. How in the hell did you get an '08 SS/TC for 16?

i know its a bad source but, is the cobalt as unsatisfying as consumer report states it? the new mazda 3, while goofy looking seemed to be high on their list. (probably cause it was Japanese)

Cobalt is by far the best bet... the Focus is a good second choice.

i forgot to mention that it could not be a "sporty" car. so is the regular cobalt still fun to drive?
