That my friends is why I stopped riding on the street. I got hit by an older man in his 70's and after my 6 day hospital visit I decided no more street riding. I miss it alot but until they pass a law saying seniors have to take a driving test I won't own another street bike.

Yep...I had tons of close calls when I was riding back in the mid-late 80's. Had a Yamaha FJ1100, and I had more people not see me, pull in front of me, change lanes into me, and tax my defensive riding skills to the max. I did lay the bike down once when an old lady pulled out in front of me once on a 90 degree left turn, and I ended up taking the road she pulled off of (dirt) for a short ways before I had to lay it down in a forest. Fortunately, I was only doing 30-35 at the time.

I also had a good friend die when a truck ran a red light, and he ran into the truck...and another truck also then hit him and the truck.

I was on a highway speed limit was 55 I was doing 60. I T-boned a trailer with almost no brakes. He pulled out at the absolute last second to cross the highway. It sucked I dislocated my left shoulder broke ribs punctured lungs and the other usual bumps and bruises associated with a bike wreck. I was in physical therapy for 6 months.

My only beef with riders is how they ride so freaking close when following someone, I'm courteous to them and stay the **** back, why can't they stay back from me? I always think if I even touch the brakes the dude is gonna kiss my bumper with his face...

There are a LOT of stupid drivers out there too though...
