Bah, that's totally geek, which is what makes it awesome. People have different interpretations of the word, to me a "geek" is someone that is very passionate about certain things (ie Star Wars, astrology, cars, etc) while still having the social ability to talk to women. Because they have that passion for certain things, they can focus on projects better and will be able to stand out at work and get ahead in life. They'll be the ones rolling up in the nice new car, getting the pretty girl that cares more about how the guy treats her than how big his muscles may or may not be etc.

"Nerd" is what I see as a more derogatory term. When I hear nerd I think of the fat dude that lives in his moms basement and giggles to himself when he see's a hot chick walk by.
