What if you modded a new Camaro to be the new 2012 Pontiac Firebird!?

I was browsing a Pontiac enthusiast magazine at the local racks and saw a pencil sketch of what a new Trans Am could be; it always shared a lot of design elements with the Camaro, so if Pontiac still existed and the Firebird were relaunched, it would certainly resemble the Gen 5 Camaro.

So just imagine, getting all the Pontiac badges, along with some choice Trans Am decals, and maybe even throwing in a few other touches (your ideas?) and *really* turning some heads in your new 2012 Pontiac Firebird, lol.

Last minute edit: Holy *crap*, I am very much not one of the first few to have this idea apparently; there are a couple of choice concept renders if you search Google images for "Pontiac Firebird concept".

Wow! After more Google research, a man named Kevin Morgan actually did this!

So freaking excited that he did this; it actually makes me daydream about doing something similar.

And at last we get to the bottom of this mystery.

The man's website is http://www.transamdepot.com/index.html and I looks like if you have some serious dough to drop, you can order a complete conversion of your own.

I only guess the pricetag of 'serious dough' because they don't list any prices on the site; you have to contact them for pricing, but man...

I always said that if I won the lottery I'd just give my 95 Firebird to one of those California custom shops and get them to completely re-do it. This might be the next best thing.

A person would probably have to appreciate the 70's Trans Am to like it. I had Firebirds and Trans Ams in the 70's and 80's, so I like it. Many, if not most of the participants in this forum weren't old enough to see Smokey and the Bandit. Some probably were not even born yet.

My younger brother goes to school with a girl whos brother has a shop in FL that does these. From what I heard they get alot of business.
