remote start HELP

06 Impala can I reset remote myself
Lock the doors,press and hold button,lights flash and a click sound under hood,but no start

does it start if you use key in ignition?

Hood or trunk open or any stored trouble codes? I believe on
my Impala you have to hit lock twice before you can start.

no code,everything shut tight,it somehow quit working before and while it was in for a check up the dealer reset it.now it happend again they want $50 to do it.
