My Hotmail account has been hacked?

I even changed the password yesterday and they got into it again.. So I changed it this morning. Any ideas what I am doing wrong. The first time I changed the password I altered the original one by putting a number infront of the word. Now it is 100% different.

Use a strong password using capital letters, lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

Also change your information such as the question (mothers maiden name), favorite color. When you change the password, is there another e-mail address attached to the hotmail account...and is that account hacked (meaning, he might have access to that account as well.

Lastly, you may need to do a scan with a good antivirus/malware program because it's also possible you have a keylogger or something monitoring any other computer you're using that could log into hotmail.

Why do you think it was hacked?

Also make sure you log out. Don't just close the window or go to another site. This keeps your account logged in and makes it easier to hack.

Another thing is, are you using another site or program to view the e-mails? For example, google has some gadgets that will allow you to check your hotmail without actually going to hotmail. These gadgets are easily hacked and someone can get your info that way to.

Most of the time it's pretty obvious. I had both my hotmail and yahoo accounts hacked in the past month or so. Both times when I logged on in the mornings to check my e-mails I would find a dozen or so messages in the Sent folder to random people I don't know and all of them contained links to spam sites and viruses.

Be certain to change yor security questions and alternate email. They are likely just logging in using your (now known) security answers. My hotmail account was hacked a few weeks back. Change your password to something entirely new not just sticking a a character ot tow onto your old password.
