looking for a DD
not desig driver... daily driver, lol.
I live in the NH, the winters here suck, I want to put my camaro in the garage w/ the cover on it and save the miles anyway. So I need a good daily driver that has 4x4 capabilities. I dont want to spend a ton, don't need flashy. I am stuck between picking a full-size pickup like an f-150, OR a wrangler. Thoughts, my friends? |

IMO, Id say pickup as you can use it to haul stuff and a jeep is really just another fun recreational vehicle.

so im guessing a gtr is out of the question
. My choices would be an avalanche explorer or charger. all of which are awd including the gtr if you wanna be pimp. just saying... I don't know if 4x4 is different from awd so if it is i guess u can disregard this post.Between your choices i guess f150 |

So many options, tough to know... Do vehicles with 100kmi+ = shit? I feel like I have to buy something much much newer since my camaro spoiled me now...

FORD...yea, a Ford CVPI
"it's got a cop motor, cop wheels, cop chassis and gets 18-24 MPG. I bought a great '06 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. If you can't stand people getting letting you go by, traffic yielding to you or no one pass you, buy a truck. I love mine.

i like my Jeep Cherokee, it is warmer inside then a wrangler in winter and does not get stuck...unless you drive into a 4 foot snow bank...then it does...but other then that it is great!

I've had my wrangler since I bought it new in 1997. It isn't very pretty, but I've never had to say "I can't make it" in that vehicle. I learned to drive it in the black hills of south dakota, where several feet of snow at a time is not uncommon. I have driven through blizzards, floods, and across the country twice.
I will never sell it. As shit breaks, I will replace it. Same deal with my 5th Gen. I keep my cars forever

Pickups, in general, don't go very well in snow because all the weight is in the front. Even with the 4WD all in, they are probably the worst 4WD vehicle in the snow. Wranglers, on the other hand, will handle just about anything that mother nature can throw at you, that is right up until the point that you get sideways on ice, then it's time to hang on for dear life. I flipped mine that way BTW. :(
Believe it or not, my best experiences in snow country have been in Subarus and AWD Mitsubishis. I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD turbo that would go through snow when it was pushing it over the hood. A buddy of mine loves his Suzuki SX4 too. Maybe it's too small? Anyway, of the 2 choices you gave, I'd get the Wrangler. They are great in the summer too!

I vote for a used Subaru WRX - much more fun than a Wrangler/Pickup. You're going to get withdrawal symptoms not being able to drive your fast car in winter, and the Subaru will keep that smile on your face all winter. No point getting a truck/SUV unless you need the ground clearance.
