First TATTOO

I'm in my late 20's crisis ha. I always wanted to get a tattoo but I have been delaying it and delaying it. I just want a four leaf clover on my ankle I got talking with some co-workers tonite at work and I'm FINALLY going to make the big step into a local shop to make a appoinment. I'm afraid of needles and just about died when I landed up in the emergency room this past January with IV tubes snaked in my wrist:( I have a nice support group of 3 or 4 coworkers that are going to come hold my hand or watch me cry out in pain

Tats were cool 15 years ago before everyone and their dog had one.

Whatever floats your boat I suppose. Seems like everyone has a tat on their arm (guys) or on their leg (girls). I'm all for getting a tat, just don't do it to be like everyone else. Same thing applies to mods on cars, everyone having them makes them a little less cool than they used to be. Speaking of mods, when did we stop calling it "tuning" or rather "hot rodding?"

Don't you think that you are making a broad and over-generalized statement?

Doesn't it matter to you people WHO is getting a tattoo of WHAT and therefore WHY they've done it?

Does every Marine get the same tattoo because it's fashionable and not quite "done to death" or because it looks cool with their matching DD 214?

NO! THAT'S NOT WHY, IT'S BECAUSE IT MEANS SOMETHING.

I guess when some people think of the word "tattoo" they think "oh that's something that I can use my credit card on at the mall to have one of those black tribal things on me for when i take my shirt off at the beach."

Then if you want a tattoo then get one that means something like you said. Tattoos have been "generalized" as a modern fashion trend and for the most part say nothing unique about the individual anymore. I think this all started with the barb wire and four leaf clover craze.

I was hot for a tatoo about 15 years back. I decided NOT to do it after I saw a friends grand father with tatoo's on his saggy old arm. It looks cool when you are younger, but as we age it just looks like an old chapter in our lives. To each his own, but I really am glad I made the right decision back then. For me anyway.

Good luck either way!

The tattoos look just as bad as bare skin once you die and are cremated or fed to worms in the dirt!

Similar deal for me. I'm originally from Detroit and I thought a blue Tiger's logo would look good on my arm. Only it turns out that tool Eminem beat me to the punch, so out the window that idea went. Maybe the old red/white/blue Camaro logo would cool now that I actually have a Camaro.
