Having fun with parking spaces...

Just a funny story, my GF rofl'd when she saw this happen.

My GF lives in an apartment complex with not enough uncovered parking, every time I go there, there is (literally), no uncovered parking spots. So what I did was I started to watch a few parking spots that I like (3 to be exact), all covered. I would watch them, every morning, every night, and every time I got there on the weekend. Whichever one never had a car in it.. id park there.

I found one, parking spot 140, right between a pole and a curb, no one can hit me, and no one ever parks in it. So I called the office, and asked if I can pay monthly for an extra spot, they said no, so I asked if anyone parks there, if not ill use it for now, they wouldnt release that information. So.. I just parked there.

3 weeks go by, and no complaints. Then yesterday, I go to my car, and I see a letter on the window. It reads "If you are parked here tomorrow, I will have your car towed".

As a joke, I took that letter off, and put it under the windshield wiper of the car in the spot 139....

few hours later, the car in 139 is gone, and a letter is held down with rocks on the curb. The letter is a signed letter from the office, saying that the car belongs in this spot (it had no parking spot number on it), and the attendant wrote on it "This is my spot! Check with the office!".

To further continue my joke, I put the letter that was signed from the office that was on the curb in 139, under the wiper of the car in spot 140.

Few hours later, I see neither car there, and no letters. Trying to find out what happened, lol. Im now parking my camaro right outside the gate, so its not on there property, so they cant do anything to my car. lol.

Hilarious!

A towing company here in Spokane had it's license pulled for 5 years for towing cars without the lot owner present during Hoopfest this year. A tow truck cannot legally tow a vehicle from a property without that property owner observing in person.
If you'd done that here, the property owner would have had to been there pointing out which car to tow or the tow truck driver would not tow.

So we should applaud you being an ass having people cars towed???

Those people pay rent for those spots, you have no right to one.

People like you should drive Rustangs, least make the rest of us look bad.

Can you say priceless? Seriously.. if anything you landed the office in hot water with a few of the renters. If they don't want to take the money for a measily parking spot like my old appt did for my bike.. let them lose money on it.

I think all he did was put the letters meant for him on other people's cars, causing them to go "WTF" and barge into the office asking what was going on. He didn't get anyone's car towed.

So, your girlfriend lives in this apartment complex but you don't and you called the office to see if you could rent the parking spot?

Of course the apartment complex will not rent you a spot if you don't live there. And I applaud them for not giving out any information to someone who doesn't technically live there.

Your may think your antics are all in fun, but you're really just being a prick to the management staff and causing them more headaches on top of what they probably already deal with.

Also, just a word of warning, if you're staying at your girlfriends place for extended periods of time, you're actually putting your girlfriend in a legal bind depending on her lease agreement. I'm not sure on the length of time, but most lease agreements can be voided and a tennant evicted if they are allowing people to live with them that are not declared on the lease agreement. Wouldn't you feel like sh!t if you came over and your girlfriend was crying because an eviction notice was posted on her door?

If the owner of spot 140 is not using their spot and it took them 3 weeks to discover you were using their spot, why don’t you find out who is assigned to this spot and offer them like $20 a month to use it, since they are not? Win for them and win for you!!

... Dude, read the next few quotes, from me
And did you really say that one person, messing with one parking spot, is making all 5th generation camaros look bad? lmao... I can see that "Dude, theres a 2010 camaro, one of those drivers messed with my parking spot, it did no physical damage to anything, he never really broke any laws, but he confused me for a little bit, all camaro drivers are @$$holes", yeah totally

Exactly, thank you for your comprehension!

Actually, she called to see if she could have 2 spots in her name under her lease. she has a 2 bedroom, but one parking spot, not an unusual request, especially since the covered spots are never taken (I see them at multiple points in the day, on multiple days, the covered spots are usually 40% vacant), and the uncovered spots are usually 90% to 100% taken. The apartment really has a crappy parking setup.
