need quick help, mustang rental car...

hi all,

sorry for the subject line but this is kinda urgent. i was given a V6 mustang convertible (yes, i know it's winter up here in NJ) as a rental car, not sure what year (it has the interior lighting if that helps). the two reading lamps (the little lights on the ceiling) won't turn off anymore. i'm not a car-guy, no idea whats going on. the buttons next to the lights don't do anything, i turned the engine on and off a couple times, same with the headlight buttons and what else i could find. they just don't turn off...

any idea what's going on here? thanks a lot.

QUICKLY - Drive it into the nearest lake, that should shut the lights off.

Check the knob where you adjust the interior gauge lighting. I know on one of our cars if you turn that as far as it will go, the interior lights go on and won't go off.

The lights might shut off like 30 seconds after you turn the car off. There's always themanual also

our ford windstar is startin to do that. all doors slammed shut and still both indicator and lights take their sweet time going off...

i was sitting in there for at least 2 mins with the doors locked and everything shut down lol. anyway, i just went back to the car and they're off now.

let's see if it happens again lol. time to get rid of the rental car and buy a beater for another three to four months or so

There should be a vertical wheel to the left of the steering wheel that adjusts the brightness of the lights. If you have it all the way up, the dome lights don't turn off.

Just hope the FAILSAFE light doesn't come on!!!!!
