FYI Top Gear USA Premier tonight.
Just a reminder that the new shows starts tonight on the history channel 10pm Eastern. I'm sure it wont have the magic of the original but we'll just have to see.

I'm not to sure how it will do. The clips I have seen show it might be ok, but I feel that the TV channels expectations might be to high and it will get axed before it has a chance to build an audience and hit it's stride.

from the commericals it sounds like they are trying to carbon copy the uk top gear. I wouldn't be surprised if it was down to the personalities. Although I don't think there could be a bigger asshole that Jeramey

i just watched the premiere, so far, I LOVE it, not as good as the BBC one but a VERY well done 'interpretation' of the BBC show. loved the segments
Dodge Viper SRT 10 vs a Cobra attack helicopter (they were being chased by it trying not to get 'missile lock' on it while trying to race around a small Georgia town. The Stig driving a ACR Viper around the track Buzz Aldrin in the "Big Star, Small Car" segment The three guys driving 3 different Lamborghini (2 Gallardos, and one Murcilago). I cannot wait for next week Tanner goes drift racing as a passenger with a BLIND guy driving with instruction from Tanner  .oh and they kept the same theme song .

Yeah it wasn't bad...but when you copy an original, then people expect it to be like the original...sort of like when you sing karaoke, it won't be good unless it sounds like the original.
IDK...I liked it and all but seemed too much of a carbon copy of the BBC version, right down "Stig" testing the cars. Should have come out and been a bit more on it's own but keeping to the Top Gear theme IMO...I'll watch again but so far, just a copy in my mind. |
