That looks really cool, I was not sure if I would like it, but I do. I'm excited that GM is releasing this, it will be nice to see it on the road.

Thanks for sharing Becky!

The no noise factory is the creepy part to me.

And wonder if at sometime it will be like the smell added to gasses, they will need to add sound to it so folks can hear you coming.

They sorta do that already. The Volt does a little 'beep beep' if it detects a pedestrian in front of it while driving

Does the beep beep sound like a car horn, or just an electronic beep? Cuz if i was a pedestrian and heard some weird beeping noise I'd probably stop and look around thinking 'what the heck was that??'

If that is the way the car beeps at crosswalk pedestrians, there is going to be some strange looks back at the driver. I wouldn't want to drive that downtown Philly if it's going to be beeping at pedestrians. Yo, pal, shove that horn where it don't shine....

The pedestrian alert system has to be activated by the driver. It isn't automated. You pull one of the stalks to sound the horn.

The sound is just like in the video...not real loud and obnoxios.
It is driver controlled as FenwickHockey65 said...
and also flashes the headlights.

I dunno why they cant just give it an external exhaust note through external speakers. To me that would be far less intrusive, annoying, and would most likely work better.
