Way to go, Oakland

I can not believe in this day and age this crap still happens. Isn't it about time that Oakland just disappeared?

It's not just Oakland. The racists will always turn it into a racial thing regardless of why it happened. It cannot be a simple case of a man shooting a man as long as the racists first see it as an act of racism and not one out of fear, or an accident, which is not to say it wasn't racially motivated, but that just doesn't make sense to me. Regardless, it apparently was unjustified and the man should pay the price.

I don't view it as racism, I view it as a figure of authority shot some guy in the back while he was laying face down on the ground unarmed... considering I had a co-worker who was present for the incident...

Not that I think the victim needs defending, because he's dead and his family are undoubtedly distraught, and I feel for them.

That being said, the dead kid was obviously in the mix of something (haven't read a story that says exactly what started the interrogation in the first place)...and the "bad cop" was a young one who screwed up...royally. In the videos I've seen you can see the cop's face after his firearm discharged...absolute terror. He knew what he just started and couldn't believe it happened. It's not like a cop just walked up on some random guy and shot him in the back. A person was struggling and not cooperating and when the cop got defensive he obviously mishandled his weapon.

I just can't believe that justified rioting. What does that accomplish? And the best part is that it's pretty EO rioting, the rioters aren't concerned with just annoying the white folks, they are ravaging their own shops and property as well. It's just savage and ridiculous.
